The Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) evolved from its initial establishment as the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Examiners of Nigeria (CIFCFEN), formerly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission under the name Society for Forensic Accounting and Fraud Prevention (SFAFP). Promote art and science in the areas of forensics and fraud investigation

Educate, conduct, and establish approaches to the forensic and fraud investigation practice

Facilitate collaboration between public and private sectors of the economy on forensics and fraud investigation measures

Integrate culture and ethical standards in the specialist areas of forensic and fraud investigation practice

Be a regulatory body for apply forensic auditing techniques to prevent fraud.
