COLLEGE PROVOST (NICFFI)

The Council, Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) has appointed Dr. SULEIMAN M. BARNABAS as Provost Nigerian College of Forensic and Fraud Investigators (NICFFI)

Appointing a pioneer provost for the Nigerian College of Forensic and Certified Fraud Investigators (NICFFI) is crucial for establishing a strong foundation and leadership structure. He will play a pivotal role in developing a robust curriculum integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills relevant to forensic science and fraud detection.

Dr. Suleiman M. Barnabas is a Sociologist with specialization in Political and Economic Criminology.

He comes with strong academic qualifications, which include:

BSc. Sociology (2006)

MSc. Economics & Business (2010)

MSc. Security, Leadership and Society (2023)

PhD Sociology (2016)

He was educated at Covenant University, Nigeria, and the University of Hull, UK.

He started his lecturing career at Covenant University in the 2012/13 academic session before joining Baze University in January 2017.

He was appointed as the Head of Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Baze University in 2017, and was reappointed the 2nd time in January 2022, a position he currently occupies.

He is also the General Secretary of the Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Practitioners Association (NASA), and a member of the Nigerian Society for Criminology (NSC).

DIRECTOR MEMBERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT

The Council, Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) has appointed ONIYANGI SALAMATU Director of Membership and Professional Engagement.

Her appointment is geared towards strengthening the efforts of the Institute in driving membership growth and enhancing positive relationships between the Institute and other Professional Bodies and MDAs in Nigeria and Globally. CIFCFIN is the only professional body chartered by statute with a multidisciplinary and multi-sectoral mandate to advance and promote the practice of forensics and fraud investigations in Nigeria. 

She has a strong background as a dedicated finance professional with almost two decades of experience in banking and operations, specializing in relationship management, fund mobilization, and monitoring of revenue collections. Amongst her core competencies, include excellent business development skills.

She graduated from the University of Maiduguri with a second class in Banking and Finance in 1998, and an MBA in marketing from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Oyo State in 2019.

She had a stint in public sector, working as a senior consultant with the presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (2021 to 2023)

She held from Ilorin in Kwara State.
